New camera + new niece

So in the last week there have been a few thins happening. Actually it has been a yoyo of a week. It started with one of my friends dad’s death (which just reminds me how vulnerable we all are - and how thankful I am to have my mum still!), then there was the birth of our niece - Gemma Victoria Holland. And how cute is she?

During the week there were many of our parents freinds who have found themselves in hospital due to heart, leg, back, lungs! Our prayers have been constant this week, and will be for a while.

Also during the week I got a new camera for my trip to South Africa (Canon 500D with a 17-85 lens and the 50mm 1.8 lens). I had no idea and I am still shocked at the versatility of the 50mm 1.8 lens. I think I am going to enjoy this one the most on my travels. While I was at Heather and Daryl’s place I got this great photo of Homer. This is one of the best I have got so far.

Anna: Your niece is very cute - she must have grown a lot while you have been away. It amazes me how much babies grow in the first few months - it really is miraculous.

Take care
